Heating Cooling Units

My heat pump started whistling after I installed a digital thermostat; what could cause that?

I recently installed a programable digital heat pump thermostat for my heat pump; now it makes a whistling noise when it is running., that it didnt make before. What could cause that? I'm worried.

It is a warning so switch off and check connections.
