Advice on how to have that delicious smoke flavor when you use an electric grill?

My mother bought this electric grill on the surface of Teflon so that the meat does not stick and burn. We have used this as our grill for outdoor grill is quite old and broken. In addition, the electric grill is easier to use and get your hands dirty, unlike the one using coal. But the thing I noticed is the flesh, but looking all delicious and not charred, it will always lack the tasty smoked flavor you get when you grill meat using coal. Do you guys experience as well, or is it just me? Why? Do you guys have any ideas or tips that can perhaps give that smoky flavor back in the meat? I do not really want to go back to using charcoal grill if I could help because it is too much work. Thank you!

Buy a liquid smoke. This is a great product that adds a wonderful flavor smoke in food. You can brush on food or add it to your recipes. I even add it to sauces barbecue if they are not smoked enough for me. The brand I usually use is Wright, and the link is below.
