How to open files, folders, shortcuts with one click in Mac OS X?

Hello everyone, what setting in Mac OS allows the user to open files, folders and desktop icons (basically all the elements of the Finder) with just a left click of the mouse? In the windows of the establishment is to make a link explorer items, but what is the Mac OS facility to achieve. How could I myself take? Thank you for your help in advance! Chris

An alias file on the desktop would be very similar to what [I think] you try to do. But I recommend that you use the functionality of Mac OS, such as batteries, the sidebar (a Finder window), or keyboard shortcuts to access your files faster.
