It depends on how long you talk About. If you say you water once a week, no you do not need to take the cartridges for storage. You just want make sure that the RO filter is placed in an area that is very bright and warm. A cool, dark room for the Storage is the best. If you tell the store for many months before using it again would be a good idea to leave the membrane, Put them in a bag Ziploc with water and put it in the refrigerator (it should stay moist and fresh). Sediment and carbon block would probably remain in the filter, but it would not hurt to leave them well and store in a Ziploc bag in the same way.
