Evaporated Coils
Sunday, September 11th, 2011Can Methanol be made by..?
a grain sugar and yeast base sits for couple weeks or so, drained then evaporated in a low heat in pressure cooker through coil to re-condense into jar, is there any possible way that what would be made is METHANOL and not ethanol? If so, HOW?
No, because you are essentially talking about fermentation here, and fermentation involves glycolysis of glucose into pyruvate which in turn forms acetaldehyde which is then reduced to ethanol.
Methanol cannot be created by fermentation.
