Are there differences between a mini-refrigerator and electric cooler?

Im wanting to put either a mini-refrigerator or cooler power in my truck tractor diesel my new career OTR. Are there advantages and disadvantages of each? Are there any differences at all between two? What is the best choice?

A mini-refrigerator uses a compressor and a fluid / gas like freon for transferring heat from its interior outside. An electric cooler using the Peltier effect when the electric current through a junction of two dissimilar metals causes a cooling effect when the current goes in one direction and a heating effect when it goes in the opposite direction. Peltier effect, has no moving parts, but is rather weak and inefficient. It requires very little space and can therefore be used in applications where very low. If you do not mind noise of the compressor next to you in the truck, mini-fridge would provide greater capacity and perhaps the best choice, however if silence is a requirement for you to sleep, try to see if there is an electric cooler large enough for your needs.
