Hello, I'm looking for Hvac installers could install in Newton area, as electricians. You need to be certified. I like American Standard, Trane, Rheem, Ruud or carrier bryant would be considered based on cost, I'm having trouble deciding where to go, so I put it here. I want high performance, my house is 960 square feet ranch in 1958 and we will be blown into the attic to install at R 19 thick. If you could help me I would appreciate it. the electrical needs of a new line of output, and our mailbox needs redone. the HVAC system at present, it will withdrawn and I consider it a repair contract? warrenty you know where you can purchase services at discounted return for verification each year. I do not think the duct work needs replaced if I'll have to watch to see if it is square or not. thank you sorry, I know it's strange, but we just bought the place. my email is niall_loves_me@yahoo.com
I can not help you find electricians CVC or in Iowa, because I'm in California. However, the Iowa Division of labor services has a database online that can be searched for registered electricians and plumbers (including heating and air conditioning). Jump to: http://www2.iwd.state.ia.us/contractor.nsf/WebSrchByAct!OpenForm Regarding air conditioning, I recommend you buy the more efficient (SEER) of the system you can afford. The cost of energy will probably continue to rise, and you do not want to install a system that will soon be obsolete. I have an efficient system which uses Bryant Puron, which is their trade name for the refrigerant R-410A and have had no problems. It is certainly a good idea to insulate your attic, but make sure the ceiling joists are not hidden. Periodically, you or termite inspector will crawl up there and you'll need to see the ceiling joists to know where to step. R19 should be OK if the joists are 2x6 or more. An attic fan also helps by reducing the load on the air conditioner. You should also consider upgrading your electrical service when the panel is redone. Compared to today's standards, with a smaller home, you should have at least 100-120 amps. But with air conditioning, electric cooker, and if you have an electric dryer or a spa, you may need 150 to 200 amps. Your local utility may be able to help you determine what you need by conducting a on-site investigation.
