Step by Step electrical operation of a Forced Gas furnace and air conditioner?

I would like to know the step by step electrical operation of a Gas forced central air conditioner and heater? I like to know what happens when the thermostat calls for heat and what happens when it calls for cooling? Thanks

This by no means covers they type that uses water cooling on towers as well which is used in commercial building and hospitals which have humidifiers built in to with air dryers as well.
