Does the air passing through an electrostatic filter (like Filtrete) Get ionized?

I've heard that ionized air can be potentially hazardous (eg free radicals) so I want to avoid air purifiers ionize the air. The 3M Filtrete polyolefins based on electrostatic filters (very common in furnace filters, and now part of a standalone air purifier) are pre-loaded with a static charge to attract dirt, dust and particles from the airflow. My question is, as air travel through the filter (via a fan) is there a way that it can collect any tax on the electrostatic filter, or air can become somewhat ionized in any way or form after leaving the filter? Now, as far as I know, the air does not cost much, so I would presume not, but I have an expert opinion.

missnamed they are, they dont really ionize the air. They clean the air allowing the prosecution to lead elctrostatic impurities stick to the filters, but the air itself does not ionise. ionized gas have tends to shine and heat.
