how to change the bricks in Vermont Aspen wood stove?

I have a 1920 Aspen wood stove - see owners http://www.stovesandspas.com/pdf/aspen.pdf manual - but you do not know how to change the bricks later. Has anyone done this thenselves and can share how to do it. I tried to delete them internally, but had no luck - I defeated a sidebar to outside but nothing came apart
