Radiant Nat
Need general information on the baseboard and radiant heating boilers??
I plan to buy a home with baseboard radiant heat (nat gas). The house was built in 62 and it has the original boiler. I have no experience with these systems. What brand of boiler you recommend? I have quotes for a Munchkin boiler, pump, etc. = $ 9000 + and a Noritz boiler, pump, etc.. intsalled for about $ 8,000. These quotes are reasonable? FYI, it's a 2000 m² on three levels ft. home. In addition, the house is covered carpet and after reading how the baseboard heating works, do I fear that the carpet is pretty tight under the baseboard? Are there any concerns with babies and small children to climb and around skirting boards?? Thank you
I had electric baseboard heating, when I bought my house. The area next to the stove is too hot and the other side of the room was too cold. My electricity bill was out of sight. I got rid of the plinth and installed central heating and air for less than $ 10,000 and it is much better and cheaper 2000sq ft Built in 1967. There was no problem with the carpet and heaters have been well protected from any contact with curtains and children.
