Dog mange problem. Skin allergy. Help!?
My Bassett mix has skin allergies. The vet has put behind her a drug that helped her stop itching himself raw, but he was exhausted and he did not fill in new. He knew she was allergic to the shampoo (we went to an oat), food, and the grass outside. She is so raw and angry now that his legs were bleeding and his bald entire underside turns sunburn. We have been giving her benadryl off and on the suggestion of our vet. Can we do that daily? If yes, how to a dog of 45 pounds? twice daily? Is it help to spend the summer? I think it is the grass and pollen, as it has rarely problems during the winter, at least not like that. Please help! Suggestions about brands of shampoo, food brands, lotions? Anything is welcome.
It really sounds like a topical allergic dermatitis, often caused by contact with an allergen.
