How do I restore an old cane fishing year 60?
I have a rod of wood 12 feet from the sea I want to restore. (A project for my 14yr old man CUB and myself) It is in 3 sections of equal length. made a very tight grain redwood, dark (not a cane Split). It weighs 35 oz `including the remaining copper and eyes Ferrell existing row is not guides. There reel to keep / siege, but signs that the reel Sat about 26 inches of stick with a handshake at the butt. The Brass feralls fubar and the eye line of `/ guides / runners are silver / chrome but show signs of age, such as verdigris green copper.Non of them are ceramic top inserts. The has 7 runners, mid section has only two runners, 23mm and 30mm (apologies for the metric! Cubs metric man, I `m old school Imperial) The stem was carefully brush painted bronze / copper. What type of paint and the best way to apply to this rod? The original is in black whipping. Then `T think of more info i can give, besides the fact that we` re both learn whipping rods!
