Do it yourself wedding fans??
I have a marriage end in June, and I wanted to program handheld fans for my guests. I however not willing to pay the ridiculous prices that are asked for them. I want to do it myself .... We are also fans have been our marriage. If you go outside the marriage biz, you can find fans that are quite affordable custom. After checking around, I decided that this site has the best price: http://www.handfans4less.com/stock.html. You can get 250 handfans double-sided color printing about $ 165. The quality is probably higher than you can get by doing it yourself, and for me the price seems good. They have a bunch of shapes that you can choose and you have to send them a file with your model (aka the design of the program.) If you decide to make yoursself, you need to know two things. The carton you buy at the store office supplies is not as heavy as the weight of the carton and commercial printers that use the fan. You might need to glue two sheets of cardstock together. But then, you'll probably end up with some deformation of the glue. Do some tests and see what you think. Second, you need to handle real fan support and the strength of your fan. Do not use popsicle sticks they too short for one thing. You need to buy Fan handles. After how much the board and Fan handles cost, it might not end up costing much more than just save you the hassle and get done. **** EDIT **** OMG! I just looked on the website you mentioned and the prices they charge are ridiculous! And they will sell * * dismantled fans? Who ever heard about that? ARRRRGH! Just another way that catches the wedding industry in the price on everything, I suppose. The $ 165 that I quoted from the site I understand and all your fans are assembled. and ready to go.
