How many hours of use can be expected from a 1 month or 3 months furnace filter?
My new thermostat has a feature counting the hours of operation of the furnace and A / C started on a new furnace filter and when it reaches a certain number, a warning light flashes to tell me that needs to be changed. Unfortunately, none of these filters that I have shopped for an "hours of use" rating, just "30 days" or "90 days" (which has nothing to do with the actual use of the filter). When a filter is said good for 3 months, how many hours of use can not really expect it?
How clean (or dirty) your air is a lot to do with it. Check how much dirt has accumulated, and that will tell you if you need to replace the filter more or less often.
