1984 Comfort-Aire Wall AC Unit not cooling?
Open up, nothing is frosted, and the filter is relatively clean (but all historical evidence) - is fairly practical person charging a wall unit? Not sure if a 23-year-old wall unit is a call for service.
Even if you are a relatively handy, as you say, you may not be able to buy it for cooling, unless you are a licensed contractor - it all depends on what refrigerant it is. If it is 23 years, it is time to buy a new way. The new will be much more effective than you currently have increasing power bills lower.
