Can I use a cap breather in My Valve Cover?
Off a 1972 Chevelle. Completely rebuilt engine and put the finishing touches. Side driver, it has a PCV valve on it. But the passanger side, I have another hole in the valve cover. As I have a valve PCV on the driver side, I might just go and install a breather cap on it? It came from the factory with a hose that goes to the assembly an air cleaner but I do not use it more than until (major assemblies) so there is no room for the pipe to go. Having this Having said that, I took off the hose and now I am left with a hole in the valve cover. Breather CAP is ok? Simply put the valve covers on yesterday and took this picture then. It did not start in twenty years. Just wanted to be sure it's OK to use.
Your image seems too familiar as I had a 72 Chevelle with Rochester two barrel 350. Aparently you do not have the original airbase more own the breather hose to valve cover slips on a nipple male fitting coming out of the base's air clean metal, the interior of the housing air filter. Until you have a PVC valve in the valve opposite vover it is perfectly OK to stick a breather outside the time This "naked" hole.
