Which would be best for an uninsulated garage an evaporative cooler or air conditioner?
Ive been told that evaporative coolers work well and cost little to operate, and air conditioners dont work even if the place is not insulated garage is about 400 m² and it gets really hot, ive been planning the get colder: http://www.amazon.com/Evaporative- Swamp-Coolers-MasterCool-Mobile/dp/B0009K2ZWM/ref = Pd_bbs_sr_11? ie = UTF8 & s = Hi & qid = 1214207084 & sr = 8-11, it seems to be very effective and I think it will do the trick, I live in Placentia, CA where its not too wet, but I need to know if its worth buying an evaporative cooler and if it will actually cool my garage. Why can not you just put the insulation in the garage? In the long term it will be cheaper, consume less energy and keep your garage a little cooler (and warmer in winter). Put some holes ventilation, as well, and you'll be set. And if you clear your clutter things, and this will get damaged by heat in your home, you will not have to buy an expensive machine, and pay to keep it running. But this is your place. Do what you need to. (BTW, the solar panels could actually help cool the garage and create electricity to run a machine. Just a thought.)
